Theory, Hazard Perception and Driving Test

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) are the government department who run the testing system, including booking of tests, the test centres and the driving examiners.

The driving test is in various parts;

You must have passed the theory and hazard perception test before you are allowed to book the driving test. You can start driving lessons at any time.

Your DRM instructor will train you for all parts of the test using the unique DRM Training Formula. It is a study pack providing the following items;

A CD, the Highway Code and extra tip sheets to help you prepare for the Theory and Hazard Perception test.

To help with your in-car lessons there is a DVD that allows you to learn the theory of the basics of driving, such as junctions and manoeuvres, in the comfort of your own home, cutting down on the amount of theory work in the car and therefore maximising your driving time during lessons.

Finally, there is a sheet to help you prepare for the ‘Show Me, Tell Me’ part of the practical test, by giving you examples of the kind of questions you could be asked.

Your DRM instructor or local centre can provide you with this pack for a small deposit, a portion of which will be refunded to you when you return it to us.

DRM can book either test on your behalf, if you are learning with a DRM instructor.

Alternatively you can book directly with the DSA online at www.direct.gov.uk or on the telephone – 0300 200 1122.
