Foreign Licence
Driving in GB on a foreign licence
If you hold a licence that was issued in a country other than the UK, DRM can help you make sure that you are following the correct guidelines by providing advice and refresher lessons. There are different rules, depending on the country in which your licence was issued, so the first thing you need to do is visit the Direct.gov web site to find out your legal entitlements.
Driving life in the UK may be very different to your previous experiences, so even if you’re confident in your ability and don’t require to sit the British practical test, it’s a good idea to do at least a couple of lessons with a qualified instructor to learn the rules of the road. Better safe than sorry!
If you do need to go through the British testing system, please read through the information on obtaining a provisional driving licence and more about how DRM can help you with both parts of the test; – the theory test and the practical driving test.
All DRM instructors are highly experienced in foreign licence conversion and will help you make sure you are driving safely and at the required standard to pass the British Driving Test.
