Mobility/Special Needs

special needs catered for

For learners with physical disabilities, DRM have automatic cars with the steering ball adaption. Our instructors have also taught pupils in their own adapted cars, subject to suitable insurance cover.

Some of our instructors are experienced in teaching learners with hearing difficulties and aspergers syndrome.

If your ability to drive has been affected by illness, the DVLA make ask you to have your driving assessed before re-issuing your licence. DRM instructors can carry out the assessment and complete a report for you at the end of the lesson. You can find out more information from CHSS

Motability can provide funding for driving lessons and we have worked with them to provide the lessons. More information on this is available from Motability.

For more information on what DRM can offer you, please contact your local centre, our staff are all trained to give advice and find the best solution for you.

All these services are subject to the availability of the instructors.
