The most important benefit of working as a DRM Driving Instructor is that you will be able to earn higher income per hour than you could when working on your own or when working with virtually every other driving school. We invest heavily in Yellow Pages and Thomson Directory advertising. We also have this website promoting our lessons to potential pupils (who are using the net more and more). All this is designed to make the phone ring in the local DRM Centres or the Central Booking office.

Our team of friendly telephone sales staff, who have been professionally trained in telephone answering techniques and in selling the DRM Training formula, enables them to convert these enquiries into high value pupil lessons for you to provide.

Our telephone sales centre is open 361 days a year from 9am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 6 pm on Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturday and bank holidays, 11am to 5pm on Sundays.

Group Meetings

DRM hold regular meetings for all their instructors to keep everybody up to date with:

• Industry Regulations
• Retraining
• Decisions on pricing
• New Marketing plans

DSA SE ADI's are regularly invited to DRM meetings to talk to DRM Instructors about Check Tests and other related matters.

DRM will offer you a Free mock Check Test, with further assistance available thereafter if required.

Continual Personal Development (CPD) Courses and materials are being introduced as and when required.

Regular contact with Centre and senior staff

The staff in the DRM Centre are working for you to provide you with your pupils. You deal with the staff on the phone or face to face when you visit the office for your day to day business. They and the senior staff offer free help and advice on an ongoing basis. You are not out there on your own, you have a back-up team to help you achieve the success you want.

DRM DVD Training Formula

DRM have a unique system for training their pupils, which includes supplying them with a pack of training materials including the DRM DVD - as well as CD ROM's to help them with their Theory and Hazard Perception training. It also includes, amongst other useful items, an appointment booklet with a progress chart and Show me tell me training materials.

This pack helps DRM Instructors train their pupils more effectively and enhances their expertise in the eyes of their pupils.

Just as importantly, because of the professional way that DRM advertises in directories and on the DRM web site, and the way the DRM sales staff sell the benefits of the DRM DVD Training Pack, they are able to book pupils at the highest known lesson rate in their area

DRM Instructors will earn more per hour compared to all the other multi car driving school instructors in their area that we know of.

DRM Training Car

As soon as you are ready to start working as a DRM driving instructor, (and you have signed the franchise agreement), DRM will provide you with your training car (if required). DRM pay for all the normal costs of providing and running the car, apart from petrol and keeping it clean. We have a spare car if yours is off the road for longer repairs or after an accident. Your car is renewed regularly and you may use it for your own private use.

There is a choice of a manual or an automatic car.

(You also have the option of using your own car, by agreement with DRM, provided it is suitable.)

What will you earn?

Virtually every driving instructor who is teaching learners in the UK is self employed, which has many benefits:

• You chose when you are going to work and for how long each day - just tell us when you are available and we fill up those times with pupils for you.
• The more you work, the more you earn - once fixed costs are covered, everything else you earn stays in your pocket (apart from the small amount on petrol for each lesson.)
• You don't pay your tax till the end of year - it is not taken out of your pay every week!

Earnings - remember your income per hour will be higher when teaching DRM pupils.

Your actual earnings will depend on the franchise you chose and the area that you wish to work in.

Not only that, DRM give you 3 franchise free weeks in your first 2 years and 4 weeks thereafter - you chose any time of year to take them.

DRM also offer substantial discounts on their franchise fees based on your length of service, so the longer you work with DRM , the lower your costs and the more income you retain for yourself.
